“Zen and the Art of Nature Photography”

    7-9:30pm

    Location: Historic Oakland Manor

5430 Vantage Point Rd, Columbia, MD 21044

just around the corner from our usual meeting place!

In this class, Sean will be taking you on his journey through nature photography. He will discuss how he found his “zen” by being out in nature and photographing it! Having his camera in hand and capturing nature, he found a way to help him cope with his PTSD. He will share these experiences with you by taking you to his “zen place” so you can emotionally become one with yourself and your image making. By doing so, he hopes that this class will bring out deeper emotions that will change the way you see things.

    Bio:

    Sean C. Simmons, M.Photog.

    Owner/Artist, Sean C. Photography

I am not a writer by any means. I am just a simple guy who loves nature and taking photographs. I love it so much I started my own photography business over 3 years ago. My goal: to capture the beauty of nature and share it with the world. My travels have led me over many rivers and through countless woods, with colored skies overhead and the landscape of the changing season beneath my feet. Most importantly, they have blessed me with the company of those who share the same passion for photography that I have, who inspire me to seek out new terrain, and rediscover the splendor of nature through an eager lens. Sean is an award winning photographer and holds a “Master of Photography” degree though the Professional Photographers of America.

Commercial photography is an area of photography capturing images used to sell, advertise or market a business, a product, a service or a person or persons. Jamie & Mike will show you their approach to capturing the commercial client’s vision. They will cover everything from marketing and acquiring clients to creating a proposal, and clear through to the delivery of the finished product and what works for them and their clients. They will show you the importance of how crucial it is to the professional world to have imagery that sells them and their services and how to capitalize on this need.
