Join us on January 26, 2022 for a new experience with MDPPA!

Our January Quarterly Print Competition will be replaced with a fabulous educational experience. Introducing:


Start off the 2022 competition year with MDPPA’s new Critique Day! Images will be uploaded in the usual format via, and a panel of three judges will score** and critique each image. You will be able to listen to the entire event live, and the discussions also will be posted to afterwards. This new event offers a great opportunity to help you prepare your entries for MDPPA’s Annual Print Competition, which will be held March 23, 2022, as well as PPA's District and International Print Competitions.

Critique Day will be held on Wednesday, January 26, starting at 1 pm.

Up to 10 total entries are allowed from each maker. They can all be in one category or a mix of categories. 

• Member – $15 each up to 10 images (total) in any category/categories.

• Non-Member – $25 each up to 10 images (total) in any category/categories. 


You may only enter digital images.

You may enter up to 10 digital images in any category. 

**All entries during the Critique Day event are "score only" and will not count toward Photographer of the Year Awards. 

Access to all critiques after the event will be through

The competition will take place online via Zoom at 1pm, January 26th.

Enter your images at by the deadline of Tuesday, January 25th, 1:00pm.

No entry will be eligible if it has been made under the supervision of an instructor or as a class assignment. All images submitted must be self-directed.

Note: If your image has already merited at an MDPPA print competition you may enter it for Critique Day as these scores don’t count towards Photographer of the Year and no Best in Shows awards are being given.
