Join Kesha for a walkthrough on the wedding day seen through the lens of a wedding photographer that works large weddings. This is a comprehensive walkthrough covering best practices for lighting on location, storytelling, working efficiently and collaboratively with clients and vendors.

Kesha Lambert, an international photographer based in NY, specializes in weddings, portraits, and commercial photography. As a Sony Artisan of Imagery and speaker, Kesha is known for capturing the individuality and personality of her subjects through techniques like light manipulation, dynamic posing, and a keen editorial eye. With a rich portfolio featuring hundreds of weddings and global projects, she not only excels in her craft but also enjoys participating in educational events that serve the photography community.

Friday, April 12, 2024, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm George Mitchell presents Unintroduction to Food & Beverage Photography


Grab your camera and join George for the UN-Introduction to Food & Beverage introduces photographers to the world of commercial food and beverage photography. Members will be provided with pro tips for meeting industry standards, understanding how to work with brands, and how to price for commercial work, as well as being included in a hands-on demonstration.

George C. Mitchell, Jr. is an award-winning, published Food, Beverage, and Editorial Portrait Photographer dedicated to preserving the integrity and standards of professional photography. George has a passion for educating others about the foundations and disciplines of professional photography and is committed to sharing his skills with new and seasoned photographers alike.


Friday, April 12, 2024 1:00 - 5:00 pm Brandon Hunter presents Love 2 Light


Lets take the stress out of lighting making it simple and easy to use. Don't over complicate it, I am not technical and there is no need to be hyper technical. Learn how to see light and make it flattering/interesting. Feather! Feather! Feather! Learn how easy it is to work with flash your way and how to develop the skill to light to your taste! We will mainly focus on backdrop studio lighting and building from 1 up to 3+ lights! Don't forget your gear, this session will end with hands-on participation with Brandon and our models!

Brandon S. Hunter is a creative portrait and wedding photographer in Washington D.C. With over 11 years experience photographing weddings in around the DMV, several states and abroad. Also have been published in several magazines and has written a few articles regarding lighting for Shutter Magazine. He has also been invited to speak at Shutterfest since 2019 and a few small virtual conferences. Has submitted a few times to print competitions and looking to enter more frequently. 

We will close out the days events with our Merits and Degrees presentation and Board of Directors Awards!

As a child, Kia Bondurant’s first images taken on her film camera were of her eye instead of her intended subject. Although she had turned the camera backwards accidentally, that eye is what has sustained her in her 25 year career as a professional full time portrait photographer.
