We would love for you to join us! MDPPA is the state's largest organization for professional photographers, aspiring professionals, and those that want their work to meet the standards of a professional. We are a go-to resource for everything you need to know to grow your knowledge and your business.

MDPPA offers three levels of membership to fit any photographer: Active, Studio, and Student. Most of our Members hold Active Memberships, while some are associates of Active Member's studios and therefore are eligible for Studio Memberships. Student Memberships are available to Maryland residents, 18 years of age or older, or with parental consent, who wish to explore photography and are current, full-time students.

There are some variations in the benefits of each membership level; please see below. Our Membership Year begins on the date you join and is renewable each year.

MDPPA Membership Benefits Include:

All general meetings, including seminars, image competitions, photo reviews, and social events. We offer extended day-long continuing education programs throughout the year at a special member price focused on providing hands on education opportunities.

Spring, Summer, and Annual Image competitions. Have your work reviewed and scored by Award Winning Photographers, Master Photographers and Certified Image Competition Judges.

Our Annual Convention. Multiple days of intense training and education from some of the industry's leading professionals, included in your membership!

Opportunities for PPA members to earn PPA Continuing Education Merits during MDPPA daylong programs.

Opportunities to earn an MDPPA Associate Fellow or Fellow Degree.

A wonderful community of photographers who are fantastic resources for idea sharing, support, mentorship, and collaboration!

An End of the Year Celebration - time to unwind after a long year of serving your clients.

Active 1 Year - Paid in Full - $250.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments With this level of membership, you are paying in full upon joining or renewing, and receiving a discounted membership from $300 to $250. This level of membership is also eligible for the Early Bird discount of $25 up until 30 days before your renewal date!

Active Membership includes those photographers who:

Are proprietors of a business for the practice of professional photography or otherwise engaged in the business of professional photography and registered with the State of Maryland.

Manage established businesses registered with the state of Maryland for the practice of professional photography.

Head photographic departments used by and for industrial firms in the State of Maryland.

Are qualified photographic instructors or department heads in Maryland educational institutions offering two (2) or more years of post-high school photographic training.

Maintain their principal places of business in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or Washington D.C.

Are beginning a career in professional photography, or are a dedicated advanced amateur photographer committed to achieving the same level of excellence as a professional photographer residing in Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, or Washington D.C.

Active Members are Eligible to:

-Attend MDPPA’s Annual Convention for free

-Attend MDPPA Educational programming

-Enter Image Competitions for Score, Merits, and Awards, at Membership discount pricing

-Vote in Association Elections

-Run for a Board Position in Annual Elections

Active 1 Year - Paid Monthly - $25.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments This membership level is a commitment for one Full Year Membership, payable in 12 payments of $25.00 monthly for one year, with an automatic credit card charge made on the 1st or 15th of each month. Two credit cards will be on file for this membership. This is a One Year Commitment for a total of $300. (This level of membership is not eligible for the Early Bird discount.)

Student 1 Year - $125.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments Student Membership is available to Maryland residents, 18 years of age or older, or with parental or guardian consent, who are current, full-time students at a bona fide and accredited high school school or college offering two (2) years or more of post-high school photographic training.

Student members enjoy all the privileges and benefits of the Association, except those reserved exclusively for Active members. Student members may enter print competitions for Score Only and are not Voting Members, nor eligible to run for elected office in the Association.

Student members must apply each year for membership renewal with a maximum of four (4) years as a student member.

If you select this type of membership, please note that your application must be approved by the Membership Chair before your membership is active. The membership chair may contact you to review your application, after which you will be notified of your status as quickly as possible.

Studio 1 Year - $175.00 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments Studio Membership includes photographers and others employed either full-time or part-time by Active (Paid-In-Full), or Life members of the Association.

With this level of membership, you are paying in full upon joining or renewing, and receiving a discounted membership from $225 to $175. This level of membership is also eligible for the Early Bird discount of $17.50 (10%!) up until 30 days before your renewal date!

Studio Membership includes photographers and others employed either full-time or part-time by Active, or Life members of the Association.

Studio Members enjoy all the privileges and benefits of the Association afforded an Active member.

If you select this type of membership, please note that your application must be approved by the Membership Chair before your membership is active. The membership chair may contact you to review your application, after which you will be notified of your status as quickly as possible.
