Tim Cooper, an impressive photographer with a wide
range of interests and photo expertise. He will make a presentation on “Painting with Light” that is based on his latest book, The Magic of Light Painting. Tim defines painting with light as “… the process of photographing at night while illuminating the subject with a handheld devise such as a flashlight or camera flash. The use of a moving light creates a look that is impossible to replicate during daylight hours.”

Tim Cooper began his career as a commercial and assignment photographer working with such clients as North Face, Ritz Carlton, Vasque Boots, 3M and the International Heart Institute. His editorial and commercial photographs have appeared in Travel & Leisure, The New York Times Magazine, Outdoor Photographer, Fly Rod & Reel, Northern Lights and Private Clubs as covers, advertising, art and editorial illustrations. Tim has been deeply involved with the Rocky Mountain School of Photography since 1993, and has taught workshops, classes and seminars with the RMSP as well as authoring training videos, digital books and print books.

Tim’s images, especially his black and white photographs, have been widely acclaimed as fine art pieces by his students, colleagues and art collectors. His prints in particular are acknowledged as the product of a true craftsman.
