Meet at Carol Davis home studio at 10:00am. Tour her studio and give everyone a chance to see the grounds. Leave Carol’s house no later than 10:30am and proceed to Colton’s Point Museum, (location of the water taxi). Colton’s Point is about 10 mins from Carol’s house. At the museum, purchase your ticket for the water taxi to ride to St. Clement’s Island for hands-on nature photography and a lighthouse tour. There is a $3 fee to tour the museum, it is not a requirement to purchase a water taxi ticket. Go up to the very top for the best view in Southern Maryland and across the Potomac River to Virginia.
There are restrooms on the island, but no other amenities. Once the water taxi drops you off on the north pier, the lighthouse is on the south side of the island. Participants typically walk the distance to the lighthouse. If needed, there is a six passenger golf cart that can pick up and transport if necessary. Last pick up from the island is 3pm. No exceptions.
There are several local restaurants. In Leonardtown (which is about 20 minutes from Colton’s Point) there is an excellent seafood restaurant. The name is T & J’s Cove (https://www.tandjscove.com/) It is small, so if that is the general consensus, we should be there early. If not there, another restaurant in Leonardtown is Fitzies. At Fitzies, there is outdoor dining, on a beach, beside the water. (https://www.fitziespub.com/).
